79 and Counting...

I got lucky and was able to run before the storms hit this morning. I'm pretty serious this week because it will (probably) be my first 100+ 6 day mile week. I'm at 79 starting on Monday and after this morning's run.  For those who don't know me that well, 6 day 100 mile weeks are really my "specialty". When I was in college, my coach and I pretty much figured out that I was just a high mileage guy. Point.  Running less then 80 mile weeks didn't really seem to work for me. In addition to this, I am highly considering running a marathon this year so I would like to keep my training up for that.  Don't worry though, I'm not one of those super crazy guys with training. After 2 weeks of high mileage, I usually do a week of singles and hit about 80 to let the legs recover (and have a week of more free time with the wife).

Regardless, I hope weather doesn't conflict this afternoon.  I should close the 100 mile 6 day week tomorrow with a cool down after the Dragon Dash 5k I'm running.

Adidas Adizero Bostons

Well, this month was a sad month for me because it looks like once again Adidas is no longer making their Adidas Boston Classic training show.  I have gone through roughly 13-16 pairs of them, logging about 6000 miles with them. I loved them and never had any problems doing 100mpw with them.

I just received my "replacement", the Adizero Bostons.  Hopefully the simplicity and neutral aspects of the Classics are still in this shoe.  The main difference that I hope doesn't cause any problems is that the show is only 10 oz. Pretty light for a high mileage runner to train in.  I already did a morning run with them and they felt good. Time to get an afternoon trail run in so they aren't that God for shaken "new white".  I'll have a full review in another post.

Resurrection from the dead

If you are reading this now, you somehow found your way to my very first domain name ever, joffroirunning.com.  My parents bought it for me as a Christmas gift my junior year of high school and I used it to cover local Louisiana cross country meets.  Somehow I started interviewing footlocker runners and my site kept getting more popular.  I'm not really sure how since I had no idea what html really was and originally it was hosted with geocities. My site kept getting larger and so did my knowledge of web-design.

The site had its high point, being mentioned for having a daily log from the crazy and talented Steve Magness who updated me on his quest to try to break the 4 minute mile.  I then changed the name of the site because people couldn't remember how to spell my name.  I then went to college and slowly, sadly, lost free time to update it.  Years went by with the occasion updates, name changes, and design updates.

I am now still running, married, and working full time so I have decided that with all this, it is next to impossible to try to maintain a full website. I still want to post about my training so I have chosen to resurrect my original domain name.  I will eventually shut down my other sites and just use this as a gateway to post my training, play with no code ideas and designs, and try to at least keep my video collection.  When I install commenting, feel free to let me know what you think.
